Caption - Oops!

I spotted these 2 dogs before their performances in a dog show and they seemed to be in love.
They did kiss other in the next scene which I am not sharing here.

Kay L Davies : Where have you been all my life?

b-a-g : What's a nice dog like you doing in a place like this?

Stampmouse : You had me woof.

GardenWalkGardenTalk : How do you turn on the water?

Autumn Belle : Where's the switch for this lamp?

Kay L Davies : One slip of those scissors and I am finding me another hairdresser!

b-a-g : Ouch! That was my ear!

Anna : Oooppss! Guess I better even up the other side! You didn't really need your ears, did you?

Thank you to all who contributed to the captions.
I appreciate every single one of them including your comments.

3 more photos awaiting your captions.
Would you prefer that the caption game be posted during the end of the week instead of the beginning or would your brains be even more tired then?
I have been finding your captions hilarious so far.

Irresistible Flowers

Flowers can be irresistible to many of us.

Some may be attracted to the fragrance.

Blogging from Bolivia
Some may just love the texture and taste.

Some develop a symbiotic relationship with the flower.
One offers food source, the other offers protection.

Some derive their energy from nectar and bring home pollen for the little ones.

Some play 'hide and eat' but obligingly smile and wave to the photographer.

Others know that flowers are to be admired from a distance...hopefully.

I have borrowed some stunning images for these collages from a flower delivery
website.
Wouldn't you agree that flowers can be irresistible?

I especially love these gorgeous bouquets of orchids.
Why?
 Because they come with roots!

Hmmm....Why not get a bouquet on Fathers Day?

Father gets his gift while Mother enjoys the gift.
The puppies can of course appreciate the fragrance and admire from a distance.

Wildlife in Kuala Selangor Nature Park

Though I complained about missing many of the wildlife in my Nature Park post, I did manage to capture a few poor photos of some of the wildlife in Kuala Selangor.

Above are creatures living in the mud flats and mangrove forest.
They include mud skippers, blue crab, red crab, king fisher, water monitor lizard and some dead snails.
There were otters too.

This Brackish Lake System was created for birds to roost and feed.
It also acts as a safe nesting area for many birds.
We could see huge birds with their nests on the trees.
Unfortunately I didn't have a suitable camera and my shots of the hawks and migratory birds turned out to be merely specks of white or black in the sky.
Finally I found a hawk that stool really still and managed to snap a photo at a close distance.

This shot came out a lot better than then the woodpecker shot.
The wood pecker hid its head behind branches each time I clicked so I had to settle with this friendly hawk.

Red ants build a nest with leaves.
One of them decided to hitch a ride on my back after I took this shot.
I thought the spider was kind of artistic with its web weaving.

Figs and ferns were abundant.
Why are there holes and teeth marks on the tree trunks?

The berry photos above are before and after shots.
There is one photo which I took before using the mosquito repellent.
As you can see, the mosquito repellent made a lot of difference to the quality of macros.

Can you imagine gazillions of hungry blood suckers attached to your body?
If you decide to visit Kuala Selangor's Nature Park, you know what to bring with you.
Thankfully for us, a pharmacy was just within 300 metres away from the place.

....to be continued.

Who Like Weeds?

I've just been to GardenWalkGardenTalk and discovered that she likes weeds.
You would like them too if you have weeds like hers.
More and more people are loving weeds, admiring what other creatures of nature have been attracted to all these while.

This is a weed loving butterfly.

Insects love to hang around wild flowers.
Some are there to drink nectar.
Some are lurking around to capture those that are out for a drink.
Others might just be romancing.

Goldee loves weeds. I often find her eating them.
Some people says that dog eat grass or weeds when they don't feel well.
Goldee definitely doesn't look ill to me.
She probably likes the fiber and nutrition that comes with weeds.

Who else love weeds?

Photography and Backdrops

Do you think the insect and weeds stand out with the beige background behind them?

With a dark-coloured backdrop, we could see the weeds clearly from this angle.

The green foliage of the chilli plant with yellow moss rose stand out with a soft, furry background.

Sometimes, I use items like a foot or a paw as a size comparison to the object in focus.
As you can see, my black and white backdrop is multi-functional.

If not properly used, backdrops can be distracting to an otherwise attractive photo.

Occasionally, I put the backdrops in focus and blur the surroundings to appreciate their importance.
Whatever would I do without them?

Caterpillars Everywhere

There are lots of caterpillars devouring cabbage leaves on all the four pots of cabbage plants that I have. This same type of caterpillar appears everwhere; on vegetables, ornamental plants, herbs and even fruit trees. It is called the Rusty Tussock Moth Caterpillar.

Below is one of the many furry, colourful caterpillars beneath a cabbage leaf.

Caterpillar poop on ginger leaves.

Caterpillar on an ornamental plant.

Caterpillar on a herb stem staring at a red-eye insect.

Black ants feasting on a flightless female & its cocoon beneath a sugar apple leaf.

The caterpillars may have attracted many birds and ants apart from dragonflies, spiders and paper wasps these days.

To me - Caterpillars in abundance.
To the caterpillar - Organic greens in abundance.
To the predators - Organic nutrients in abundance.
