Texture & Pattern

The Word for Wednesday that Donna of Garden Walk Garden Talk is hosting this week is 'Texture and Pattern'.

Since everything is with texture and pattern, the difficulty here is to limit the length of this post.
I do not intend to limit to texture and pattern found in my garden alone.

There were many huge ferns plants at the highlands which I visited a few days ago.
I find the patterns to these unfurling fern fronds rather captivating and am posting 6 photos of them.

Below are the soft texture of the grass on the highlands and wavy patterns formed by the mountains.

Back at home, I continued my quest to look for more texture and pattern.
As soon I picked up the camera, the furry texture below, demanded to tag along as he loves to be outdoors.

Out of all the captures, I think the highlight of today is this blue feathery friend.

It is such a delight to see a White-throated Kingfisher having a feast in my garden!
To be honest, this is a regular visitor but it maintains its distance so we had to get a zoom lens.

The above is a collage of some of the textures I see around me.
Notice that my first few passion fruits shall be ripe soon?

Do head over to Garden Walk Garden Talk for an INFORMATIVE post of 'Texture and Pattern'.
Enjoy others' takes on this theme or join us with your own interpretation.

Caption - Food Cravings

Monday Photo Captions wouldn't be as much fun without your wild ideas.
I appreciate all of you who submitted your captions and especially those who came back when ideas struck after being stuck.

Luna Miranda : She said YES?

Malay Kadazan Girl : A good fluffy cover for hide and seek!

Bananaz : Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee... or is it a wasp. Gee! DOGgoned memory!

GardenWalkGardenTalk : And I thought I got a portrait all for myself without that big lug, Clifford. Dang fly!

b-a-g : I'm not going through a midlife crisis. It's just my wisdom teeth coming through.

Anna : My! These chew toys are getting bigger all the time.

One : Effective solution to avoid teeth grinding during sleep.

Autumn Belle : Almost all expectant mothers experience food cravings during pregnancy.

Kay L. Davies : A very hungry dog eating furniture.

My kindhearted teenage neighbour rescued these abandoned kittens over a week ago. Now that they have been fattened up a bit, they are available for adoption. Don't they look adorable?

Send in your captions for the kitten photos and stand a chance to win a kitten of your choice!
How about that?
All selected captions will be posted next Monday with a link to your respective blogs, with or without a kitten.

For those who didn't have enough of the kittens, here is a mosaic of them.

Getting Ready for National Day

We have to Get Ready for National Day which is tomorrow.
I hired an assistant to Dress Up the Boys with our National Flowers.
She got to work immediately without even alighting from her vehicle.
Some people are very passionate about what they do.

She did not bring any tools with her, only red hibiscus flowers in the basket of her bike.

I must admit that after visiting Rosie and Kala's sites, I am beginning to see beauty in bikes.
Click on the links to admire their spectacular bike shots.

Actually we wanted Pichu to hold the flower in the mouth, as if he is about to tango but he has other plans with the hibiscus.

Check out
Dressing Up the Boys for National Day
to see the outcome of the preparation.
The boys look more desirable than I thought possible.

Selamat Hari Merdeka!

See Eye To Eye

The photo above depicts the meaning of 'see eye to eye'.
More accurately, it should be called 'see eyeball to eyeball'.
On a more serious note, you may agree that Pichu is 'all eyes' with his eyeball.

This is an endearing moment between my 'eye candy' and his eyeball candy.
Do be reminded that feelings, like all others things may change.

Enjoy loving moments while they last.

Situation can get a little bloody when no longer 'seeing eye to eye'.

Then it might lead to 'an eye for an eye.'
The entire situation has progressed from 'feasting eyes on' an eyeball to feasting on an eyeball within a minute.

Have fun with idioms!

Take a look at eye candies at Roses and Stuff.
Be assured you will not see another bloody eyeball.

I look forward to the theme from Roses and Stuff each week.

Wishbone flower ( Torenia fournieri )

Zinnia (Zinnia !!!)

Frangipani (Plumeria)

Mexican Petunia (Ruellia Brittoniana)

The above are just some of my pink eye candies.

This is my other eye candy staring at his eyeball candy.

Faces in the Garden

There are some strange looking faces in the garden.

They are a little creepy, aren't they?
Comparatively, the faces below seem quite charming.

There are more but I think you have enough of creepy looking flowers and creepy looking bugs.

Since there will be no signs of Spring for me to look forward to, I looked for some unusual faces instead.
I shall let you leave this post with a more pleasant looking face.
Pichu thinks he has the best looking face.

Who Stole The Coconut?

Someone stole a coconut from the flower bed.
Who could that be?
Sing along to the tune of 'Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar'.

Who stole the coconut from the flower bed?
Pichu stole the coconut from the flower bed.

Who me?
Yeah you!
Couldn't be!
Then who?

Clifford stole the coconut from the flower bed.
Who me?
Yeah you!
Couldn't be!
Then who?

Goldee stole the coconut from the flower bed.
Who me?
Yeah you!

Goldee is destroying the evidence...

... with her assistant taking over as shredding is physically demanding for her age.
