As You Sow, So Shall You Reap

The meaning of the idiom above it quite obvious.
The harvest that we reap depends on the seeds that we sow.

As I sowed cherry tomatoes seeds, I get to enjoy sweet, delicious tasting cherry tomatoes almost every morning.

As I sowed papaya seeds, the whole family enjoys good health through the nutrients that these papaya fruits provide us.

As I sowed cabbage seeds, beautiful cabbage plants emerged. 1,2,3,4.
4 cabbages coming up...

Where are all the cabbages? Gone. All I see are caterpillars.
The wise says Don't Count Your Chicken Before They Hatch.

I tell myself, it's all right. The caterpillars will soon transform and fly away.
I'll have the cabbages then. I just need to Hold My Horses.

As I waited patiently for the caterpillars to transform and cabbage leaves to grow, another batch of caterpillars arrived!!!
Oh! No! I'm Back To Square One!
Well, now that I have lost all my 4 cabbages, I must remind myself not to Lose My Head as well!

As I Keep My Chin Up I see beautiful moths and butterflies.

Aren't they pretty?
If you do not reap what you sow, remember, it could just be a Blessing In Disguise
After all, Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining.

If the above is All Greek To You, my apologies. I'm just having some fun with idioms.
Thank you for Lending Me Your Ear to listen to my Cock and Bull Story.

Beauty Next Door

An excited 9 year old neighbour came over to tell me that he has a male papaya tree. I have many papaya trees myself but have never planted a male one. I was thinking what made him so sure it is a male tree.

One glance at the flowers and one cannot dismiss its machoness.
It's got to be male, all right. Its kind of showy, isn't it?

Then, some other flowers caught my attention. I cannot resist stealing a few shots.

A bright red zinnia calling out to me...

A lovely pink rose radiating love...

Isn't it nice to have neighbours who plant beautiful flowers? I get to admire them eventhough I personally focus more on fruit trees and edibles.

For the moment, the most beautiful flower I have is this black and white blot. It is blooming between wooden furnitures. That's my silly yet lovable and adorable Clifford.

How To Keep Papayas Within Reach

This is our favourite papaya tree.
It provided a steady supply of papaya fruits.

The papayas were always refreshingly sweet but gradually grew out of reach.

After harvesting most of the papayas, I shorten the tree so that future fruits would be within reach.
The trunk need to be covered with a waterproof material.
I used a shower cap.
Otherwise it will be filled up with rain water which will lead to mosquito larva and trunk rot.

New leaves grew back quickly.

This faithful papaya tree has begun to flower again.

When it continues to bear fruit, there is no need to use long picking poles to harvest the fruits.

In case anyone wants to shorten your papaya tree, just remember to cover up the trunk immediately.

Harvest

This is the first time I have harvested my red flesh Dragon Fruit.
Previously, a passerby couldn't resist harvesting on my behalf.
The pumpkin is 1.96kg in weight.
