We celebrated World Environment Day at Central Park in Setia Alam today.
We were entertained with cycling stunts.
As many as 200 bicycles were awarded to schools and also to winners of various campaigns by our developer, Setia.
We were fortunate to receive 2 new bicycles as a gesture of gratitude from Setia for assisting them in some community work.
Fitness instructors were invited to guide the cyclists in some fun, warm up exercises before the cycling journey began.
Children were provided with acrylic paint and stones to release their energy and creativity.
There were quite a few other activities as well.
Local food with Starbucks Coffee and muffins were served.
I wonder how you celebrate World Environment Day.
What a beautiful way to celebrate the environment! I'm going to go to British Columbia, where I was born and spent most of my life, and I am going to hug a tree.

ReplyDeleteYes, these bicycles say thanks to you.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting post... love the 3rd photo - it is a great action shot.
ReplyDeleteGreat gesture by getting people in for a good cause, and a good drive. We did veggie giveaways ....
ReplyDeleteI never heard of World Environment Day. I am glad you posted the event. It looks educational and fun.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun day and obviously a good cause to celebrate.

What a marvellous community event. We went seed and produce swap. Planted many greens today.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great cause...our environment is so important to take care of. We celebrate Earth day here in the USA...we usually plant a tree1
ReplyDeleteNo World Environment Day celebration locally that I know of. I did spend the morning at a weekend market that sells plants, organic produce and homemade food products. The rest of the afternoon was spent alternating between a blog crawl to catch up on posts I missed while on a plant chase and time in my garden repotting plants.
ReplyDeleteThere is also no such celebration here in our local community. Or maybe I just didn't know :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a good cause. I hope it gets celebrated all over the world like mother's day.
Good to see that your developer is aware of environmental issues and is making a positive contribution.
ReplyDeleteIt's GREAT to see so many people who care about the environment!
ReplyDeleteA fun day for a great cause.
