Leaf Beetles

Oh dear, oh dear!
The leaf beetles are here.
Didn't they leave after my pumpkin harvest last year?
Why is this one resting on my Zinnia?

They have a special knack,
To track down their favourite snack.
Now they are all back,
For the watermelon attack.

Titty fruit leaves, soft and furry,
Also tasty, crunchy and yummy.
When it has filled up its tummy,
I hope it doesn't start a family.

  1. What an amazing closeup in the last image. I had no idea this was a leaf until I really looked when I enlarged the grouping. It looks like a warm, fuzzy blanket. This would be a fine lighting entry.

  3. I thought it was daisy at first glance and not zinnia. Better rest on the zinnia rather than watermelon eh;-).

I hope you send me on another mission soon. Yesterday I absentmindedly went in search of Katarina for her theme forgetting that she is on a hiatus. I'm off on a Star Cruise to Phuket tomorrow. Want me to bring you a sunset viewed from the deck ?
