It's Summer.
It's always Summer.
There is only Summer.
My yellow cosmos is blooming like crazy.
Cosmos arrived in my garden on its own 3 years ago.
It has continued to self seed ever since.

I was hoping for some 'fall' colours and thought I could get away with a wilting flower above.
Kindly acknowledge the cute praying mantis that just said 'Hi!'
I have Hibiscus, Zinnia and fruit plants blooming but I prefer to post these wild flowers.
I am in the mood for fall and winter colours.
It must be a contagious mood.

The wild flower blooms above look like alphabets O and S, don't they?
It says; 'Only Summer!'

Happy GBBD. I new you would have shining star blooms, and a couple of bugs too!
ReplyDeleteI really like that little white and purple wild flower - it looks a bit like an orchid.
ReplyDeleteHi One, i wonder if that S is normal and not helped a bit to be like that, haha! Peace:) I am posting wildflowers next which are also weeds, in contrast to my previous post which are grass weeds. We have yellow and orange cosmos before but they are just gone. I love the pink cosmos but i cant see them here.
ReplyDeleteMm, beautiful wild flowers..
ReplyDeletePretty flowers and such cute little bugs.
ReplyDeleteWhat an O and a S through the clever eyes.
ReplyDeleteI like autumn, but winter... mmmmm.. it is beautiful, but is too cold for me.
Send my regard to the mantis.
Such pretty blooms! And such a cute photo of the pray mantis and the lady bugs on O and S. :)
ReplyDeleteThis humble Caribbean servant states that the strength and beauty of Cosmos is such that I have planted them among debris on top of concrete and have survived during my practice of Guerrilla Gardening.
ReplyDeleteThere are others like Mirabilis Siciliana, Turnera ulmiforme/diffusa that withstand drought,
heath and salty breeze.
Until then,.
So good to see a praying mantis again; they usually visit my garden every summer, but they have long since left it for warmer climes. I've never seen one with such big eyes before--he's really staring into the camera, isn't he? It's certainly a treat to see all your lovely blooms and visit your "always summer" garden--I feel warmer all ready!
ReplyDeleteThat praying mantis is so cute. Great shots!
ReplyDeleteThe praying mantis is a calendar shot for sure! Your blooms are lovely and your summer looks inviting ;-)
ReplyDeletealoha,
ReplyDeletesummer is a wonderful state of mind to be in during the colder winter months...the shots are a nice reminder
Wild and pretty blooms all year round, aren't we lucky One!
ReplyDeleteIt is freezing here! We could sure use a little " Only Summer". Love the wildflowers, especially the "O" and the "S".
ReplyDeleteSo, here in Colorado we have distinct season change. Today it is cold, cloudy, windy, threats (empty ones) of moisture. Tomorrow it could be 65 or even 70 degrees. Yet all of our garden treasures are soundly resting. Love your yellow cosmos. I've never seen them before. Just keep us in the summer spirit, One, with your beautiful flowers. I need mini virtual vacations from time to time. cheers. ann
ReplyDeleteI love that you focused on the half-faded cosmos instead of the perfect ones -- it looks like a flame. The mantis is adorable. Tell him I said, "hi," too!
ReplyDeleteAah the Tropics - endless Summer. I love it.
ReplyDeleteYour yellow cosmo look lovely! I like your wild flowers which form O and S! It's really unique!
ReplyDeleteI saw those cosmos grown into a shrub in a park and always flowering and never die. And, it's wonderful to see wildflowers growing and striving the heat. Love your photos especially the O and S :-D
ReplyDeleteI miss the only summer sometime. Nice OS you have there.
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to visit you and remember Summer with it's amazing colors.
ReplyDeleteLovely O and perfect S. Love the flowers. Our one summer has been extremely crazy lately. Super blazing hot half a day and cloudy on the other half. The mantis really looks at home among the beautiful blooms!
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky, because here we said " it's only winter for now".
ReplyDeletecute - I can see the O S! I agree with Ellada though - we got our first snow too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blooms! is great to see so many flowers in your garden. And so nice that they came on its own.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have something blooming in my garden! Instead, we have melting snow, mud, and not much else! I really like the bloom in the shape of an S. Maybe you can parlay your photography skills into a children's alphabet book only using flowers or plant parts to create the pictures. That would be really cool!
ReplyDeleteVery nice wild flowers, the purple one looks like orchid, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBtw, you have a very sharp camera. What model is it? :)
How I wish some cosmos seeds will blow into my garden and invade it like a weed. I really need some magic like this. OS also stands for One is Special!
ReplyDeleteI love the shot of the praying mantis! Your blooms are lovely; those really do look like OS. Our summers are hot and sticky. I definitely wouldn't want only summer, but only spring might be nice.
ReplyDeleteHi One,
ReplyDeleteWhy did it call Wild Flower?
Just like to share with you a beautiful quote...
