Toad : "Hi, Big Fella!"
Toad : "Move over. You are in my way!"
Clifford : "I must be dreaming...zz..."
Clifford : "Mom! It's a talking toad!!!"
Goldee : "Beware! The last one I chewed on made my mouth white and foamy.
I ended up looking like a clown with huge, white lips."
Clifford : "I guess a peck is harmless. It's cute."
Toad : "Er...Excuse, me."
Toad : "Stop drooling on me. I don't want to get any slimier."
Toad : "Yikes! I need a bath right now!
Toad : "In case you are wondering, I do not have royal blood in me. I am NOT a frog and shall NOT change into a prince."
Love the post, its so cute and make a great story for the kids! :-)
ReplyDeleteinteresting :)
ReplyDeleteIf the dogs have kissed the toad, or the toad kissed your dogs, either one of them may turn into a ".....".
ReplyDeleteI loved this post and your photos of the pups. Your story is sooo darling. You knew I would like it too. So cute.... I am glad Clifford did not eat it. At least Goldie learned a valuable lesson before, so this guy is safe from her. Check out the post "Found by the Side of the Road' by Diane's Texas Garden. You will be so happy you did.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these pictures!!! My dogs would have been running around like deranged lunatics and the toad would have been frantically hoping for safety. What a wonderful way to start my afternoon!! Thanks!! :0)
ReplyDeleteha ha!! what a hilarious set of photos!!
ReplyDeleteWhat well behaved dogs! Those photos are priceless. :D
ReplyDeleteThis is really great story! I guess your kids must have enjoyed bed time stories when they were young!
ReplyDeleteYour dogs are really adorable! I just took a few shots of the same colour frog at my garden! I will post it soon!
Oh they are all so cute! I can't believe the toad stood for such antics!! A nice bit of joy for a Monday!
ReplyDeleteOh One, I know that toad is harmless but it made me shiver. We have cane toads here that are poisonous and will kill a dog if they played with it.
ReplyDeleteOne, you are not only funny, naughty too! hehe. I love this post and your dogs seem so behaved, but they are really studying what was it in their territory. The two circled it with their 4 paws while scrutinizing the toad. So what was the ending of this encounter? I am curious about that. Maybe you helped the toad get out, or you called the dogs name, so they got distructed and the toad jumped! Huh!
ReplyDeleteLoved it!What a cute post and adorable pictures!
ReplyDeleteWow, what an adventurous toad! I'm surprised it was so calm with your dogs checking it out (and that your dogs were so calm about it too!)
ReplyDeleteYou just can't say enough nice things about friendly amphibians! Alas, I have no pet to socialize with my garden toads so have to carry the conversation myself. Oh, the tales those toads tell! LOL
ReplyDeleteCute! Cute! I had a good laugh. I'm surprised the toad didn't hop out of there at the first sight of the dog. Could he be tame, or else truly a prince seeking a kiss?
ReplyDeleteHow cute! Both the pictures and the story, The last line made me laugh. I wasn't expecting it. I was waiting for the transformation to prince.
ReplyDeleteVery, very funny! I love the pictures and the commentary. Such cute dogs! ....Well, the toad is cute too!
ReplyDeleteDear friends, Thank you for dropping by and also for the lovely comments. My dogs don't eat toads so you need not worry that they are poisoned or worried for the toad's safety. Clifford has this habit of lying next to a toad as if to protect it...perhaps from Goldee. Or perhaps Clifford finds the toad helpful in getting rid of the mosquitoes around him.
ReplyDeleteCute. :)
