Ephemeral is the chosen word for Word for Wednesday at Garden Walk Garden Talk.
It means lasting for a short time.
Hibiscus flowers only last for one day but the plant itself is hardy, where I live.
It means lasting for a short time.
Hibiscus flowers only last for one day but the plant itself is hardy, where I live.
Sneak peek of a yellow cosmos above.
The cosmos flowers are in abundance now but these plants shall only last a few more weeks.
Flowers whisper "Beauty!" to the world even as they fade, wilt , fall. - Dr SunWolf
When the cosmos plants have finally hit the compost pile, I shall come to this blog to see the buds and blooms and the many variety of critters that have been brought about.
I accidentally bumped into a chameleon above the cosmos plants and screamed.
Obviously, I frightened the poor creature away.
The encounter was really ephemeral since I only had a glimpse of the chameleon.
I must have sounded quite terrifying.
I hope the terror was ephemeral for the chameleon.
See the twinkle?
What are ephemeral are made less ephemeral now since I have recorded them here.
Thanks to Donna.

Great photos. That last dragonfly photo is really a wonderful shot.

Such a delight to see your photos:)) Nature is so alive.
ReplyDeleteamazing pics. i never saw a lilac bee :)
ReplyDeleteI never saw a lilac bee either. That is really interesting. I really like your take on ephemeral with all the stunning photo. 'Flowers for one day' was one of the definitions that I found. I was surprised to see flower references and the one on the fall leaves. Both are so appropriate for our garden blogging forum. Thanks for playing along!
ReplyDeleteThe photos are very beautiful ... looking great ...

Love the pattern on the dragonfly's wings.
ReplyDeleteLove all your 'critters'. But I also love your flower photos. I didn't realize hibiscus flowers only lasted one day (mine never do well here). Love that picture with the sun behind the bloom, and the sparkles in the background.
ReplyDeleteI, too, am glad I have my blog to refer back to when I may have 'Bloom Withdrawal' this winter. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat's the name of the purple bug - is it the lilac bee that Donna mentioned? Good take on ephemeral!
ReplyDeleteWow! Awesome post with beautiful shots of critters! One you have DOne it again :)
ReplyDeleteZdjęcia śliczne, ale ten różowo-fioletowy owad jest niesamowity. Pozdrawiam
ReplyDeleteI am always amazed at your insect photos. What is the little purple creature? Moth or butterfly? It has such beautiful color. Thank you for your kind comment on my latest photos. To answer your question, I print the cards. I have 4 grandchildren and a few a years ago I started making their birthday cards to make them more personal. I spent a small fortune buying elaborate stickesr--Disney ones to embellish the cards. I always write my own poem to celebrate their special day. Spend hours creating the cards that I send to friends and the children, but it is a labor of love and I hope special too. You have such beautiful photos, I see them on beautiful cards, too.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Am starting to love insects already. Lovely pixz. Awesome twinkle. tQ
ReplyDeleteOne of the most bittersweet things about a garden is its ephemeral nature. I enjoy capturing those special ephemeral moments on camera, as you always do so well. All of your insect photos are amazing. You really open up a new world to folks who normally overlook, or worse, grab the bug spray, when they see insects.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to remember all the beauties of the summer and fall.
ReplyDeleteStunning photographs as always One! Love the "twinkle" shot :)
ReplyDeleteLovely photographs, really impressed at how well you have captured the fleeting insect visitors.
ReplyDeleteI love your photographs. You have truly captured ephemeral.
ReplyDeleteA feast for the eyes! Your captures of the ephemeral beauty of your garden and its visitors are captivating!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely ... a feast for the eye!
ReplyDeleteThese ephemeral moments will always be remembered because of these beautiful pictures. Keep freezing time through the lens of your camera.
ReplyDeleteI love the shot of the butterfly (hairstreak?) peaking over the edge of the petal! And that last dragonfly image is so incredibly textured that I want to reach out and touch it. Thanks for sharing some wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteMaybe i should let ephemeral pass without me joining. I just arrived last night. I smiled at your last words here, true enough! Your photos and critters are beautiful as usual but that pink moth is a rarity, i haven't seen that yet. But my sister brought me a big yellow moth and a catedid in a box for the photo session.
ReplyDeleteCan't choose a favourite here...your post/photography demands words of praise in superlatives ONLY! I felt like I was in a dream garden with a bug on every bloom!:)
ReplyDeleteI love your photography and thoughtfulness. I now have a big smile on my face:~)
ReplyDeleteWow, amazing photos as always! I just love the one of the butterfly peeking over the edge of the petal with its forelegs on the petal - so cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm just in awe of the beautiful captures.
Great interpretation of ephemeral! Honestly, you take the best insect pictures around! I just love the dragonfly image. What beautiful wings it has!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos and tribute to ephemeral. The colors of the insects are amazing.
ReplyDeleteYou put a lot of work into this theme! very nice.
ReplyDeleteYour insect photos are phenomenal! I'm barely patient enough to find them much less get close enough to photograph them.
ReplyDeleteThis is a super gorgeous post!!! You have so many amazing critters in your garden, along with beautiful flowers! It was a nice treat - we have sunshine, but cool temps and frost here.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting at MM today. So very kind of you and much appreciated :)
