Genius Loci

Gardening Gone Wild has this contest that requires the contestants to capture 'Genius Loci' of an atmosphere.

I know I am late for the contest.
Exactly ONE hour late.
Genius Loci is such a big word to me.
I needed time to digest the meaning and even more time to capture the moment.

It would have been easier if I have not been so adamant about capturing photos only from my own garden.
Anyway, here it is; my wilting sunflower with magical sun rays as the back drop.

I'm linking this to Fertilizer Friday/Flaunt your Flowers at Tootsie Time.
Thanks to Glenda for being the host.

  7. Diana and P3. The second photo was taken before 8am. So it is actually sun rise you see there.

Dear friends, It's ok that I don't get to participate. Actually I had assumed a Feb contest ends on Feb 28. When I decided to post, I realized I was already late. It wouldn't have made any difference. But you should see the rest of the photos in Gardening Gone Wild. They are fabulous!!!

  12. "Genius loci"... it's latin! I have studied it for seven years when I was at school. It means the protective spirit of a place.
    Lovely pictures!

  14. Your sunflower is so pretty and makes me miss mine and longing for summer to come. More snow in the forecast. Very cold tonight. Even the wilting sunflower makes an interesting photo. We hate to see our sunflowers fade, don't we? cheers. ann

  15. One, i love that first shot. I almost tried it too, but i didn't have the confidence to join as many of the joiners are good photographers and artists who know the real meaning of genius loci, which i don't know too! haha.
